How to choose cufflinks???

Choosing cufflinks may seems easy for some but for newbies, they may not have the essential knowledge to do so. Cufflinks reflects individual personalities. Different occasion require different type of dressing therefore require different type of cufflinks too. Its best to have different categories of cufflinks so when occasion arise, you have 1 to use.

As discussed earlier, there are different categories of cufflinks in the market. Mainly Novelties, Classic & Contemporary.

Novelties cufflink designs are more 'Fun' look rather then serious.

Classic cufflinks are more simple in term of designs yet elegant.

Contemporary designs on the other hand could be the combination of both.

When starting to use cufflinks, always built from basic design & colour to ease the headache. A simple silver & black cufflink is best for a start as it matches easily. Be more careful when playing with coloured cufflinks as it do required more attention in term of coordination. Do pay attention to the details of the design. Analyse your wardrobe colours before gettting or you face getting another shirt just for the cufflink.

How to wear a Cufflinks???

Depends on the type of cufflinks you have. It can be fixed type, swivel type, chain type or clip type.

For fixed barrel type, usually the face is bigger then then the base. Just go through all the button holes and its fasten. Its that simple. The face usually is in front so as to show the design.

For chain type, its the same way as above. Usually both sides are the same.

For clip type, just clip both the cuff together. Usually, the chain is outside the cuffs.

For swivel type, which is the most common type. Closed or align the swivel in a parallel position. Go through all the holes and opened back to lock it. It form a T shape.

Remember to fasten or you face losing it.

What is Cufflinks???




A Cufflinks is an accessories used to link up a cuff with just button holes on both side without buttons on Shirts or Blouse. This type of cuffs is known as French Cuffs/Double Cuffs. However, it can also be worn on single cuffs shirt with both side of the cuff with button holes.

Cufflinks came in different types of designs & material. In general, it could be classified as Novelty, Classic, Comtemporary etc. Material used could be Brass, Alloy, Sterling Silver, Titanium, Stainless Steel, Tungsten Carbide, Platinium & different type of Gold. The inlay could be of Shells, Stones, Carbon Fibre, Woods, CZ, Diamond, Enamel, Crystal etc.
